Integrations
Connect Microsoft Partner Center so Onyx can read your CSP customers and subscriptions, and what its status messages mean.
Settings › Integrations opens Integrations & Connections, where organisation admins connect Microsoft Partner Center.

Microsoft Partner Center
The Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) integration for customer rosters, Microsoft 365, Azure subscriptions, and telemetry.

Connect
For organisation admins
Only organisation admins can connect, re-authenticate or disconnect integrations.
Choose Connect Partner Center.
Connect using an Entra ID admin account with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Sign in and approve access.
You're returned to Platform and the first sync starts.
Once connected
The card shows the Partner Tenant, Currency & Region, when it was Last Synchronized and how many Synced Customers there are.
| Action | Does |
|---|---|
| View Customers & Subscriptions | Browse the synced customers and their subscriptions |
| Sync Now | Refresh customers, subscriptions and telemetry now |
| Disconnect | Remove the connection (asks you to confirm) |
Partner Assistant Tools lists the actions and capabilities available to the Onyx Partner Assistant with this data; choose Explore tools to see them. Some are for organisation admins only, and some read Partner Center live; see Partner Assistant.
Partner Center roles
The Partner Assistant reads Partner Center with the sign-in of the account that connected it, so it can only see what that account can see in Partner Center.
| To answer about | The connecting account needs |
|---|---|
| Customers, subscriptions, licences, Azure usage, trials | The Admin agent role |
| Invoices, service costs, budgets | A billing role, such as Billing admin |
| Co-sell referrals | The Referrals admin or Referrals user role |
| Incentive earnings | An incentives role, such as Incentives admin |
If the account lacks a role, the assistant says so for that question; everything else keeps working.
Co-sell referrals and incentive earnings
Co-sell referrals and incentive earnings come from a separate Microsoft API (Microsoft Partner), so they need one more permission than the rest of Partner Center.
Onyx turns on the extra permission for Partner Center connections. Until then, the assistant answers that co-sell and incentives need one more Microsoft permission.
An organisation admin goes to Settings › Integrations and reconnects Partner Center (Disconnect, then Connect Partner Center), signing in with the same account.
Approve the extra permission when Microsoft asks. Co-sell referrals and incentive earnings are then available in the Partner Assistant, to organisation admins.
Your other data is not affected
Until you reconnect, everything else the assistant answers keeps working as before.
When something needs attention
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Connected, but no CSP partner account found | Partner Center didn't find a partner account for this Microsoft login. Sign in with the account you use at partner.microsoft.com. |
| Connected, but this login is missing a Partner Center role | The login needs the Admin agent or Sales agent role in Partner Center. Ask your Partner Center admin to assign one, then select Retry |
| Reconnect required | Microsoft no longer accepts this connection's sign-in (consent removed, or the password or MFA changed). Reconnect |
| Synchronization stopped / Synchronization failed | No new customer data was saved. Select Retry, or reconnect if it keeps happening |
